How far in advance should I submit an application for study abroad?
Applications for MDC faculty-led summer programs will close on December 1, 2023.
All programs will close as soon as they reach 15 confirmed participants. Therefore, the sooner you apply, the better!

Who is eligible to apply?
Programs are open to all MDC students regardless of your major/pathway. The course taken can fulfill a requirement for your major, a general education requirement or it can be taken as an elective. All students MUST meet the eligibility requirements.
Does Financial Aid cover the cost of my program?
Financial aid may be used to cover or defray the overall cost of your study abroad program. As financial aid packages are specific to each student, we encourage you to meet with the Director of Financial Aid on your campus as soon as possible to discuss your financial aid options. Since financial aid funding for the summer term is limited, we recommend students reach out to the Director at least 6-12 months before the program takes place. Additional external scholarships may be available based on eligibility. Read more information here.
What classes can I take while abroad?
Each faculty-led program is tied to a unique MDC course (exact courses on each poster board). Prior to applying, students should meet with an academic advisor to ensure the course(s) fit within your academic pathway and meet remaining requirements.

MDC faculty-led programs provide lodging/housing.

Will I need a Visa?
Visa requirements will vary based on the country and each student’s immigration status. It is the responsibility of the student to research immigration policies and inquire as to the need for a visa dependent on the host-country/ies.
Please note, all passport and visa related fees are the responsibility of the student.
MDC does not offer a program in the country of my choice, can I apply to another program on my own?
No. At this time, MDC is only offering study abroad programs through our faculty-led programs and outside providers.
