Applications for the Foreign Affairs Information Technology (FAIT) Fellowship are traditionally accepted from September  - January. The fellowship is designed for individuals who want to pursue an IT-related undergraduate or graduate degree and a career in the Foreign Service. www.faitfellowship.org


Rangel Summer Enrichment Program:
The Rangel Summer Enrichment Program for 2025 will open applications in October 2024.  This six-week paid summer program is designed to provide undergraduate students with a deeper appreciation of current issues in international affairs. This program encourages the application of members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service.  Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students, with at least sophomore status on the date of the application deadline and must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2.  https://rangelprogram.org/summer-enrichment-program/


Both the Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Graduate Program and the Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Graduate Fellowship Program will begin accepting applications in July for their 2025-2027 cohorts. These fellowships provide financial assistance for a two-year graduate program in an international affairs-related field at a U.S.-accredited institution, with a five-year service commitment as a Foreign Service Officer upon successful completion of all requirements. 


Spring 2025 Student Internship Program (SIP) Applications Open July 1-8
Applications for the Spring 2025 paid Student Internship Program will be accepted from July 1-8. This is a 10-week paid internship program that will take place at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, DC, or with limited opportunities at an embassy overseas. Travel and housing will be provided. Undergraduates must attain minimum of 60 credit hours (or 90 quarter hours) by December 2024 in order to be eligible. You must also be returning to school in the fall of 2025 to be eligible (Spring 2025 graduates are only eligible if continuing on to graduate school in the Fall of 2025). Graduate students who will also continue their studies in the Fall of 2025 are also eligible. Apply via USAJobs.gov.
